A Voice For Us
This page was designed following the sudden and unexpected closure of the National Foundation of Transplants. This organization led many patients to believe that the funds they asked their family and friends to donate were personal and restrictive to their own needs, less the small percentage taken for “administrative fees” by NFT for assisting with the management of their personal campaigns. Upon the announcement of the closure, it was revealed that these were “unrestricted donations made in their honor”. This enabled NFT to use the funds at their discretion. These are real people at different points in their transplant journeys. Some are several years post-transplant, still burdened with the life-long costs associated with organ transplantation. Others were taking their first steps to procuring a safety net for aftercare costs to increase their eligibility to be listed. All of them have been left blindsided and continuing to fight for their lives. This page is dedicated to highlighting their stories and giving readers and supporters a glimpse into the world of organ donation.
All startup costs incurred for A Voice For Us and it’s webstore Touched by Transplant have been funded out-of pocket by it’s creators. If you would like to contribute to ongoing efforts to continue advocating for those in need, we invite you to make purchases from our webstore. A portion of all proceeds go directly to helping patients in need. We take what happened with the NFT very seriously and want to do everything we can to assist them. We do not receive any income for running this page, so we have developed a webstore where you can make purchases to show your support for this mission. The webstore will enable us to continue to operate these pages and increase visibility. We do not ask patients for any financial information, nor do we manage any funds for them. Some patients have developed individual fundraising pages, and we support them by sharing those pages. We are not affiliated with, nor do we have any personal access to those campaigns, we simply share them to help these families reach their goals.
